THE BOARD

The functions of the Board fall into four (4) primary categories: Strategic Direction The APC Board of Directors determines strategic direction, mission, and vision.

Finance The board is responsible for approving the annual budget and amendments to ensure that proper financial controls are in place. Additionally, the Board is tasked with providing adequate resources to operate the Organization and meets its goals. As such, the Board serves an important role in fundraising efforts.

Organizational Oversight The board reviews the Organization's staffing model to ensure it is effective and reflects organizational needs and values. It has responsibility for hiring, firing, and directing the work of the Executive Director who in turn oversees additional staff and all volunteers. The Board ensures that the staff has the moral and professional support needed to further the goals of the Organization.

Visibility The Board collectively and individually represents APC in our community. The Board shall be able to clearly articulate the Organization's mission, vision, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garner support from the community

The Board also ensures organizational legal compliance, ethical integrity, and maintains accountability. The Board is ultimately responsible for ensuring adherence to legal standards and organizational values.
