Director

Preferred Pronouns: She / Her / Hers
Director Status: New
Current Term: First (1st)

Forrest is a licensed, Atlanta-based librarian. As a HBCU-grad and continuing her mother's Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. legacy-- she is committed to community. She now works in sports and tech for a large media company. So, the art of storytelling and celebrating culture is at her core.

Before sports and tech, she has solely worked in academia and special libraries from Columbus State University, the Tubman African American Museum, Satilla Regional Library System, South Georgia State College, Fort Valley State University, and Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.

"Favorite Librarian" is her blooming platform that solely circulates Black and Queer Literature and Resources. From continuous collaborations with Harper Collins, ECCO Books, Source Books, and more-- she enjoys contributing to academic circles and public spaces for Black and Queer healing, growth, expression, rest, joy and learning.

Combating under education, fighting for gender equality and systemic patriarchy brings joy to her day, and defines her as a superheroine.

Forrest stated she serves on the Atlanta Pride Board because, "I want to support the progress of equity, Queer excellence, and further uplift all intersections of the Queer spectrum in Metro Atlanta, throughout Georgia, and the world. I wholeheartedly believe APC can reflect and contribute to the beautiful diversity of Atlanta's Queer community and I'm excited to add to that work.

I've previously worked for the City of Atlanta, at a Special Research library solely dedicated to Black History, Culture and Literature. Adding my strengths, experience and connects to this board is an honor."
