Jhazzmyn Joiner (she/they) is a gerontologist, communicator, and poet (in no particular order). She is a program manager at the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, and has worked in the non-profit aging sector for the past couple of years. Jhazzmyn has a B.S. in Literature, Media, and Communication from Georgia Tech and an M.A. in Gerontology from Georgia State. She is also serving as the secretary of the Georgia Tech Lavender Alumni Organization for 2022-23.

In the past, Jhazzmyn has been a member of the United Nations Association of the United States of America as an ambassador for sustainable development goal #13 - Climate Action, and as a representative for the Commission on the Status of Women 66. She has starred in Out Front Theatre's Production of Kinky Boots as a member of the ensemble. She also started her own foundation, The Joiner Foundation, Inc., in 2017.

In Jhazzmyn's free time, she writes poetry. She has been published in several anthologies and digital magazines and is currently working on a new poetry book. She also enjoys spending time with her loved ones, going for walks, catching up on shows, or working on creative projects.

Jhazzmyn stated she serves on the Atlanta Pride Board because "I wanted to be a part of the conversation and change happening as we make the southeast more inclusive and safe. I also wanted to bring my communication and aging background with me to help do these things."
