Press Release: Announcement of 2019 Grand Marshals
Atlanta, Georgia. – The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) is pleased to announce that the 2019 Atlanta Parade Grand Marshals have been selected!
The Grand Marshals are comprised of individuals and organizations, residing or based in Georgia who are recognized for their outstanding work advancing LGBTQ equality in the metro Atlanta area and across all of Georgia.
The 2019 Atlanta Pride Parade Grand Marshals (listed alphabetically by first name, below) are:
- Dr. Annise Mabry
- Rev. Dr. Beth LaRocca-Pitts
- Chanel Haley
- Emily Halden Brown
- Feroza Syed
- Rev. Kimberly Jackson
- Latino LinQ
- Royce Mann
- The Honorable Stacey Abrams, Fmr. GA Democratic Governor nominee
- Stephanie Cho
- Thrive SS

Atlanta Pride Committee Executive Director, Jamie Fergerson, said, “Each year, The APC seeks to select Grand Marshals doing great work for our community, as a way for us to honor and show gratitude for the positive difference each individual or organization has, and continues to make for all of us.”
Fergerson continued, “Our organization is proud of our effort and commitment to select Grand Marshals from the wide range of diverse activists and community members among us. It is important to us that our slate of Grand Marshals represent all the varied and beautiful segments of our Queer community and our allies.”
She noted, “I have made this request before, and will do so again this year as I believe it is important. If you know any of this year’s Grand Marshals, please take a moment to congratulate them on their much-deserved recognition. And if you don’t know them, I encourage everyone to take a little time to get to know these honorees and their work. The APC is so proud to be able to bring a small amount of attention to their accomplishments by giving them a place of honor in leading our 2019 Parade.”
