About Us

The mission of the Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) is to advance unity, visibility, and wellness among persons with widely diverse gender and sexual identities through cultural, social, political, and educational programs and activities.
The Atlanta Pride Committee, Inc. is Georgia's oldest non-profit organization serving the LGBTQ+ community as an advocate to advance unity, visibility, and wellness among persons with widely diverse gender and sexual identities through cultural, social, political, and educational programs and activities in Atlanta and throughout the Southeastern United States — mostly notably our annual Festival and Parade among dozens of other year around events.
We envision a world where persons with widely diverse gender and sexual identities are united, visible, and equal.

What is the role of an APC Director?

APC Directors are responsible for the organization as a whole. The functions of the Board fall into four (4) primary categories: Strategic Direction; Finance; Organizational Oversight; Community Visibility.
APC Directors are year-round volunteers, most likely voted into multi-year terms. Board work usually requires two (2) hours of labor per week, including the advancement of key responsibilities and initiatives through board and committee work.

APC works to ensure our board is comprised of diverse community members, including allies, who are best poised to serve the needs of the organization and our current strategic priorities.
